Education

We educate and support the general public to be responsible and caring pet owners.

We do this by:

  • Following and promoting a neutering policy;
  • Ensuring all of our animals are vaccinated and micro-chipped (dogs);
  • Providing information about responsible pet ownership to potential adopters;
  • Running educational workshops on animal care and welfare to schools and other groups;
  • Promoting and offering behavioural training and support for new pet owners.

    As members of the professional body The Association of Dog & Cat Homes, we will become are part of a national network of rescue centres which demonstrate best practice and a commitment to educating the general public.

Veterinary staff compete in Wolf Run to raise money for our rescue

The intrepid team from Southcrest vets braved the Summer Wolf run and returned alive with a few bruises and broken bones but happy smiles for a great day out. Thank you for all you support so far. You can still donate to Wythall Animal Sanctuary via our just giving page until the end of this week.

KITTEN UNIT TEMPORARILY CLOSED FOR RENOVATION

IMPORTANT NOTICE At the moment our kitten and puppy unit is undergoing much needed renovation work. The unit has been open and in constant use since 1995 and is in dire need of some vital repairs a few improvements and a general face lift! We have waited until this end of the year to do this work. Sadly this does mean that we are unable to accept kittens at the moment. Our waiting list is currently suspended.
Our adult rescue cattery is operating as normal and some of our older kittens have moved into there from the kitten unit.
we apologies for the inconvenience but this work needs to be done before next years kitten season starts again in earnest.
