It is our policy not to re-home animals over the festive period. This is not only to ensure that animals are not acquired as Christmas gifts but also because settling into a new home, no matter how wonderful, is a stressful time for a rescue and there are a lot of added hazards in the household over Christmas and the new year in the way visitors, decorations, celebrations and rich food which makes it not an ideal time for your new pet to settle in.
We stop re-homing this year on the 8th of December and renew again on the 2nd of January.
Our kennels are still open as normal for viewing our animals and we will be reserving and taking details for home visits. Rest assured our staff and volunteers will continue to come in as normal over the Christmas and New Year period to ensure our animals are looked after as normal. We hope that you can understand and comply with our policy over this time. Thank you.
A BIG thank you to everyone who came along to our Winter Fayre last night. To Dot for organising the event, the team at the West Heath Community Centre for their help and support, everyone who donated or baked, manned a stall or turned up and supported the event. We raised just over £1000! Which is fantastic. Well done all involved.
Fill a shoe box with a some Christmas treats for one of our rescued animals and we will distribute them on Christmas morning to make Christmas day special for all of the animals spending the festive season in our care this year.
PLEASE NOTE You are welcome to bring your shoe box to the Sanctuary anytime between 9 and 4 but if you wanted to look around whilst you are here you would have to come during our opening hours of 2 til 4pm. Thank you.
