Volunteering

We need volunteers here at our rescue centre, every single day to work alongside our staff team to care for our animals and help us with a range of jobs supporting their work. Volunteers are crucial to our day to day operations.

Volunteer roles include:

WINTER FAYRE SUCCESS

A BIG thank you to everyone who attended, donated towards or manned a stall at our Winter Fayre last week we raised an amazing £1148!  Big thank you again to Dot for organising the event.

CHRISTMAS ADOPTION POLICY

It is our policy not to re-home animals over the festive period. This is not only to ensure that animals are not acquired as Christmas gifts but also because settling into a new home, no matter how wonderful, is a stressful time for a rescue and there are a lot of added hazards in the household over Christmas and the new year in the way visitors, decorations, celebrations and rich food which makes it not an ideal time for your new pet to settle in.
We stop re-homing this year on the 7th of December and renew again on the 2nd of January.
Our kennels are still open as normal for viewing our animals and we will be reserving and taking details for home visits. Rest assured our staff and volunteers will continue to come in as normal over the Christmas and New Year period to ensure our animals are looked after as normal. We hope that you can understand and comply with our policy over this time. Thank you.

CHRISTMAS SHOE BOX APPEAL RETURNS

Some animals will be spending this Christmas in our care.
Cheer them up by filling a shoe box, or any box, with gifts for one of our rescued animals and we will distribute them over Christmas. Choose to donate a gift to a rescued dog, cat, rabbit, guinea pig, ferret or even a pony!
Boxes can consist of anything you like a toy, some treats, some food whatever you think the animal who receives your gift will enjoy. Drop your shoe box at the Sanctuary on Middle Lane, Kings Norton, Birmingham B38 0DU.

Just a couple of pounds a month will make all of the difference.
