KITTEN UNIT TEMPORARILY CLOSED FOR RENOVATION

KITTEN UNIT TEMPORARILY CLOSED FOR RENOVATION

IMPORTANT NOTICE At the moment our kitten and puppy unit is undergoing much needed renovation work. The unit has been open and in constant use since 1995 and is in dire need of some vital repairs a few improvements and a general face lift! We have waited until this end of the year to do this work. Sadly this does mean that we are unable to accept kittens at the moment. Our waiting list is currently suspended.
Our adult rescue cattery is operating as normal and some of our older kittens have moved into there from the kitten unit.
we apologies for the inconvenience but this work needs to be done before next years kitten season starts again in earnest.

AMBER (AVAILABLE FOR FOSTER)

AMBER (AVAILABLE FOR FOSTER)

Amber is currently being treated for a possible upper respiratory infection (cat flu). She has had a swab test which we are awaiting the result of. The vets suspect this is viral and she may well have flare ups throughout her life particularly in times of stress/change. We are now looking for someone that would be interested in fostering her on a long term/ life long basis. This would just mean the sanctuary would cover her vet bills due to her ill health.

We are looking for a potential foster owner who would be able to:

  • Drive to the vets we use in Redditch
  • Has no other cats and or dogs in the home
  • Is home majority of the time
  • Preferably someone who has experience and/or have owned cat/s previously

If you think you could offer this beautiful girl the home she deserves then please call 01564 823288 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. our team and we can chat in more detail

Looking for a dog?

Looking for a dog?

Looking at our web site you may be forgiven in thinking that we do not have many dogs here. Our rescue kennels always run at maximum capacity and we have a waiting list of dogs needing our help. When a dog comes into our care it has to go through a process.
Looking at our web site you may be forgiven in thinking that we do not have many dogs here. Our rescue kennels always run at maximum capacity and we have a waiting list of dogs needing our help. When a dog comes into our care it has to go through a process. Firstly most coming into our care are not fully vaccinated and have often not been to see a vet recently or treated for worms or fleas. A new dog needs to go into our isolation area whilst it is treated for parasites, vaccinated and usually neutered. Whilst in there they are given an all over health check by our vet and any issues such as dental, skin or mobility problems are addressed. Whilst in there our carers carry out initial behaviour assessments. Once they have passed this process they then move into one of our two re-homing blocks where further behaviour and socilaisation assessments begin. This includes how they are around other dogs, how they react to cats, livestock, strangers/visitors and how they are when walking on and off lead and basic commands. Only when we feel that we have a good overall picture of the dog and viable information that we can pass on to potential new owners and only then will they be put on our web site and given a mention here on our facebook page.
Many dogs are spotted by visitors to our Sanctuary and simply never make it to the web site. Some dogs have bigger issues and the training/socialastion period is taking longer than usual so they can be with us for longer without actually being on the web site. We have a behaviourist who visits to help us address issues before the dog is put up for adoption.
Although we ask people who are surrendering their, or a relatives, dog to fill out a disclaimer form noting as much information as they can all rescue dogs come with baggage! Some people are not entirely truthful with what they tell us and in some cases - such as when an owner has passed away - no information is known. We put on our sleuthing hats and see what we can find out from vets and via microchips BUT the only information that we can truthfully give you is what we have experienced here first hand with the dog. This is why we take great care over the assessment period.
If you are currently looking for a rescue dog it is always worth visiting the Sanctuary you may see the ideal dog that is still under assessment
