Volunteering

We need volunteers here at our rescue centre, every single day to work alongside our staff team to care for our animals and help us with a range of jobs supporting their work. Volunteers are crucial to our day to day operations.

Volunteer roles include:

Activities involving direct contact with animals:
Including dog walking, cat socialising, assisting with cleaning, grooming, basic dog training

Fundraising related activities:
Including helping with events, helping with collections

Office based duties:
Including data entry, filing, computer work, helping with marketing and social media

Charity shop activities:
Including sorting donated items, serving customers

Centre cleaning and maintenance:
Include cleaning, painting, maintenance, gardening

If you can spare a few regular hours each week, we would love to hear from you. We offer a volunteer induction programme which covers all aspects of health & safety (for animal care roles), we can provide a reference for future employment should you need one and you will be part of a friendly, welcoming team, passionate about animal welfare. You can gain some new skills, develop personal skills and confidence, try something new and gain a sense of achievement by putting something back into your community.

Please note: Volunteers must be over 16 years of age.

Georgie seeks special home

Sadly one of our beautiful ferrets, Georgie, has been diagnosed with some neurological issues. We noticed a short while ago that she was shaking quite a bit more than normal and was having coordination problems. Sadly not much more can be done for her than observing and keeping an eye out for any deterioration. Tests could be performed at a high expense however nothing in the way of treatment could really be offered on most outcomes.
She is still a happy active girl who still lives relatively normally however there is no guarantee how long she has without any health deterioration. This is why the sanctuary are appealing for any ferret experienced owners that would be open to fostering our girl (vet and food expenses paid) with adopting our other 2 ferrets Lacey and Koda as all are bonded and we do not want to put any through the stress of being parted/being alone or having to mix with other ferrets at this stage.
We welcome experienced owners that do already have neutered ferrets but would be willing to have our three as a separate group or spend the time needed to integrate them.
Please call us for more information.

Do you want to play our Easter SPOT THE DIFFERENCE competition?

The rabbit on the left is a Easter toy. Cute and fun and can be forgotten about after a few days.

The rabbit on the right is a 12 year commitment!
